How to Use · Best Practices

Shake Well
Gently shake the bottle for 30~60 seconds before use to fully mix the matte particles and formula, ensuring consistent stone matte effect in every print.

Wash (95% Alcohol, IPA or Magic Wash Plus Dedicated Cleaning Solution)
Wash printed parts with 95% alcohol, IPA (isopropyl alcohol), or Magic Wash Plus dedicated cleaning solution, ensuring the surface is completely dry. Ultrasonic cleaning or gentle brushing is recommended to ensure detail areas are thoroughly cleaned.

UV Post-Cure
Place the cleaned model in a 365~405 nm UV curing station for 10~60 minutes (time depends on model thickness). Thorough post-curing ensures the stone texture is fully expressed.

Heat Treatment (Recommended)
For better toughness, after UV post-curing, place the model in an oven at 60°C for 60 minutes. This step significantly improves impact toughness and reduces brittleness risk.

Post-Processing Painting Tip: Stone-Like's matte surface is the perfect base for wash techniques. Apply dark wash (brown or black) to fill recessed details, then use dry brushing to highlight raised areas — easily achieving realistic stone weathering effects without any painting experience.

Key to Matte Effect: Always shake thoroughly before use. If matte particles settle without thorough mixing, some areas may appear glossy, affecting the overall stone texture.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the matte effect of Stone-Like permanent? Will sanding remove it?
Stone-Like's matte effect is a property of the material formula itself, not a surface coating. However, extensive sanding (below 400 grit) may alter the surface roughness and affect the matte effect. We recommend using finer sandpaper (800 grit and above) for local touch-ups, or applying a matte clear coat after sanding to protect the finish.
Can Stone-Like be painted directly? Does it need a primer?
Stone-Like's matte surface has good adhesion and can be painted directly with acrylic or model paints without primer. However, for best painting results and long-term durability, applying a gray primer first is recommended — it significantly improves paint adhesion and color saturation.
What is the difference between Stone-Like and Ceramic-Like 100?
Both are high-hardness art-grade resins but with different positioning. Stone-Like (77D) focuses on matte stone texture, emphasizing light-shadow expression and post-processing potential — ideal for sculpture and architectural models. Ceramic-Like 100 (88~90D) has higher hardness with a white porcelain feel — ideal for jewelry prototypes and fine crafts.
Can Stone-Like be mixed with other QTS resins?
Mixing different resin types is not recommended as it may affect the matte effect and mechanical properties. For color adjustments, use QTS ColorMix pigment concentrate, which won't affect Stone-Like's core characteristics.
