Are you struggling with a discontinued critical machine part? Want to develop a unique modification kit for your car but lack the blueprints? Or perhaps you need to permanently preserve a cherished artwork as a digital file?
QTS Professional 3D Scanning Service was created to solve these exact problems. We utilize industrial-grade blue light and laser scanning technologies to precisely capture every physical detail—from tiny screws to an entire car body—and convert them into high-fidelity 3D digital models (STL/OBJ/STEP) with an accuracy of up to 0.02mm.
Q: Do I have to ship my object? Can you scan on-site? A: Both options are available. Shipping the object to us is the most cost-effective method. If you require on-site service, a travel fee will be applied based on your location.
Q: Will the scanning process damage my object? A: No. 3D scanning is a non-contact technology. Apart from potentially applying a thin, easily removable layer of developer spray or tracking dots to certain surfaces, the process is completely non-destructive and safe for precious artifacts and precision parts.
Q: How is the service priced? What information do I need to provide? A: Please provide the object's "dimensions," "material," and "intended use," along with photos. Our team will provide a quote based on its complexity.
Q: I only have a physical part. Can you turn it into an editable CAD file? How is that priced? A: Absolutely! This is our reverse engineering service. We first scan the object into an STL/OBJ mesh file, then our engineers manually model it into a STEP/IGS surface/solid file. The cost for reverse engineering is quoted separately based on complexity.
Q: What file formats do you provide? A: We primarily offer four formats: • STL (No extra charge): Standard 3D printing mesh format. • OBJ (Additional fee): Mesh format that includes color texture maps, used for full-color scans. • STEP / IGS (Additional fee): CAD formats available after reverse engineering, editable in engineering software.
Q: What kinds of objects require special treatment? A: For "transparent," "highly reflective," or "jet black" objects, we typically apply a thin layer of scanning spray to ensure the scanner can capture the data. This spray is easily wiped off.
Q: Do you patch the small holes left by tracking dots? A: By default, we do not (no extra charge). If you require a fully watertight model for 3D printing, we can provide a hole-patching service for a small additional fee based on complexity.
Q: Can you scan people? A: Yes. We have equipment with a no-light mode suitable for human scanning, applicable for medical device design, ergonomic analysis, or custom figurines. We can also provide a confidential process if privacy is a concern.
Don't let physical limitations constrain your possibilities. Contact QTS today and let us open the door to digital manufacturing for you.
