Flex 8A is an ultra-soft resin. Longer exposure times are recommended to ensure inter-layer adhesion. Post-curing is mandatory — complete UV post-curing is required to achieve optimal elasticity and dry surface properties. Insufficient post-curing will result in a tacky surface.

Q: Can Flex 8A replace silicone molding?

A: For small batches, complex structures, or rapid prototyping, Flex 8A is an excellent alternative to silicone molding. It eliminates expensive tooling costs and lets you directly print any shape of soft part. For large-scale production, traditional silicone molding still has its advantages.

Q: The surface is still tacky after post-curing. What should I do?

A: Tacky surface is usually caused by insufficient post-curing. Ensure you use a 365~405nm UV light box and extend post-curing time based on model thickness (up to 60 minutes). After sufficient post-curing, the surface should be dry and non-tacky.

Q: Is Flex 8A suitable for making earphone tips or ear plugs?

A: Very suitable! Shore 8A softness allows earphone tips to perfectly conform to ear canal shape for comfortable wear. However, for products in direct skin contact, ensure post-curing is complete and conduct skin sensitivity testing.

Q: Can Flex 8A be used for food contact or medical applications?

A: Flex 8A does not currently hold food contact or medical device certifications and is not recommended for direct food contact or implantable medical use. Use for medical models or educational models is acceptable with complete post-curing.
