QTS TPU 90A High Elasticity Flexible Filament is a 3D printing material specifically designed for functionality and durability, featuring a Shore hardness of 90A that balances flexibility with excellent structural strength. Made from high-quality Thermoplastic Polyurethane, this material boasts wear resistance, high tensile strength, and superior tear strength, making it the premier choice for manufacturing durable and elastic components.
Compared to TPU 85A, TPU 90A provides higher hardness and structural strength while maintaining excellent elasticity and wear resistance. Its elongation at break of over 800% ensures that parts remain intact even under extreme conditions, making it an ideal choice for industrial-grade applications.
QTS TPU 90A utilizes high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane with a Shore hardness of 90A, providing outstanding elasticity and flexibility. Unlike traditional rigid plastics, TPU 90A can quickly return to its original shape when subjected to impact or pressure without permanent deformation. This unique elastic property makes it an ideal choice for creating anti-slip grips, flexible joints, and wearable accessories. Whether for daily use or extreme environments, TPU 90A delivers stable performance.
TPU 90A features a high tear strength of 220-240 N/mm and a tensile strength of 32 Mpa, allowing it to perform exceptionally well in environments with frequent friction or stress. The material's molecular structure design ensures long-term wear resistance, maintaining product integrity and functionality even in high-wear applications. Whether producing industrial gaskets, wear-resistant grips, or high-frequency use parts, TPU 90A provides an ultra-long service life, significantly reducing replacement costs.
The elongation at break of over 800% gives TPU 90A exceptional impact resistance capabilities. When subjected to sudden impacts or external forces, the material can absorb energy and release it gradually, effectively protecting internal structures. This characteristic makes TPU 90A the perfect choice for creating shock-absorbing mounts, protective covers, and vibration-dampening parts. Compared to rigid plastics that easily crack, TPU 90A remains intact under extreme conditions, extending product lifespan and enhancing user experience.
TPU 90A exhibits excellent oil resistance, allowing it to be used long-term in oily environments without softening or swelling. Additionally, the material's glass transition temperature is -30°C, enabling it to maintain good elasticity and strength even in low-temperature environments. These properties make TPU 90A an ideal choice for industrial machinery parts, automotive components, and outdoor equipment. It operates stably whether in high-temperature oily environments or cold regions.
QTS TPU 90A undergoes strict quality control to ensure consistency and stability in every batch. The material is designed to be compatible with all mainstream FDM 3D printers, including both direct drive and Bowden extrusion systems. It resists jamming and filament breakage during printing, significantly improving print success rates. Whether you are using an industrial-grade printer or a desktop model, QTS TPU 90A provides a stable and reliable printing experience.

TPU 90A is a hygroscopic material that absorbs moisture when exposed to humid environments long-term, leading to decreased print quality. It is recommended to dry the material before printing:
TPU 90A is compatible with all mainstream FDM 3D printers, but different extrusion systems have different optimization recommendations:
Proper storage can extend the lifespan of TPU 90A and maintain its performance:
If TPU 90A has absorbed moisture, the following signs will appear. Please dry immediately:
The main difference between TPU 90A and TPU 85A is their hardness level. TPU 90A has a Shore hardness of 90A, while TPU 85A is 85A. This means TPU 90A offers higher hardness and structural strength while still maintaining excellent elasticity. TPU 90A has a tensile strength of 32 Mpa, compared to 30 Mpa for TPU 85A; its tear strength is 220-240 N/mm, compared to 85 N/mm for TPU 85A. Therefore, TPU 90A is more suitable for applications requiring higher strength and durability, such as industrial parts, anti-slip grips, and shock absorbers. TPU 85A is better for applications needing extreme softness and high elasticity, like phone cases and shoe insoles.
TPU 90A shows clear signs when it has absorbed moisture. First, you will hear popping sounds during printing, caused by moisture evaporating at high temperatures. Second, the printed surface will show bubbling or pitting. Third, the filament will string excessively, significantly lowering print quality. Finally, layer adhesion will be weak, leading to easy delamination. If you notice these signs, stop printing immediately and dry the material before reusing it. It's recommended to regularly check stored TPU 90A, especially during humid seasons.
The suggested nozzle temperature for TPU 90A is 200-230°C, with a recommended temperature of 240°C. The specific temperature should be adjusted based on your printer model, nozzle type, and filament batch. If the temperature is too low, the filament may not melt completely, causing weak layer adhesion; if too high, it may flow excessively, reducing print precision. We recommend starting at the recommended 240°C and adjusting gradually based on print results. The recommended bed temperature is 45-60°C, or optionally 60-80°C to improve layer adhesion.
Poor print quality with TPU 90A can have several causes. First, check if the material has absorbed moisture, as wet filament drastically reduces print quality. Second, ensure the print temperature is correct; both too low and too high temperatures affect quality. Third, check if the print speed is too fast; TPU 90A is recommended to print at 20-50 mm/s, and faster speeds degrade quality. Fourth, verify retraction settings; excessive retraction easily causes jamming. Finally, check for a clogged nozzle, which prevents proper extrusion. If problems persist, contact QTS technical support.
While TPU 90A itself is a safe material, we do not recommend using it directly for food contact applications. Although TPU 90A does not contain toxic substances, the 3D printing process can leave bacteria or contaminants on the material's surface. If you need to create food contact parts, we recommend proper cleaning and sterilization first. For medical or food-grade applications, please consult the QTS technical team for professional advice.
Proper storage extends the lifespan of TPU 90A. We recommend storing TPU 90A in its original packaging, using an additional sealed bag and desiccant. Keep it in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. For long-term storage (over 3 months), use a dry box or desiccator cabinet, keeping humidity below 20% RH and temperature between 15-25°C. Regularly check stored material to ensure packaging is intact and dry. If moisture absorption is detected, dry the material immediately.
